Fundraising & Supporting Our Local Community

Its not just fun and frolics for the ladies of Wilmslow Ladies Circle. We all also like getting our hands dirty by getting involved in raising up to £2000 each year for local and national charities.

Its all hands on deck for the annual bonfire in November, organised by Round Table with massive support from Wilmslow Ladies Circle, on the Carnival Fields in Wilmslow. Making mountains of candyfloss, and staffing both the sweetie and mulled wine tents, this year we are on target to have raised another £1,500!

We have recently donated an impressive £500 to St Ann's Hospice, £500 to the children's ward at Macclefield Hospital, and £250 towards a day out for the women and children supported by the Stockport Women's Refuge. For Christmas 2008 we bought presents for the women supported by the Women's Refuge in Macclefield.

Some of the girls, their family and friends donned Pudsey bear and clown costumes to tour the pubs of Wilmslow to collect money for Children in Need, raising a fantsatic £465 donated by the generous citizens of Wilmslow!

We also helped out with the Round Table's Santa's Sleigh, now a familiar sight around the streets of Wilmslow in the run up to Christmas. We collected another £100 towards our annual total for charity.

As well as raising money directly, each year Ladies Circle volunteers help at Cancer Research UK 'Race for Life' events in our local area. There is always lots to be done, from registration and marshalling, to handing out medals - that's if you're not running the race yourself!!

A big THANK YOU to all those who show their support by donating to the Wilmslow Ladies Circle charitable efforts!
